Origin: Central and South America
Description: Tillandsias are also known as “air plants,” which are native to South America. Unlike succulents, Tillandsias require no soil to thrive. Tillandsias are epiphytes, which means their root systems attach themselves to trees or rocks. During the day, Tillandsias get their nutrients and moisture from the air and at night, they take in carbon dioxide through tiny pores along its leaves called “Stomata.”
Sun: Filtered sunlight. If indoors, place near a bright, sunny window.
Water: Using a spray bottle, water three times a week.
Frost: 40 F°
