. October signifies the beginning of fall and upcoming holidays. Bring style to your patio or garden by decorating with the long-lasting, vibrant blooms of Kalanchoe blossfeldiana. Native to Madagascar, this succulent can adapt well to outdoor conditions in the spring and summer

Kalanchoe blossfeldiana
The small flowers are grouped in tight flower heads borne on long stems. Each head has between 20 - 50 flowers and will thrive outdoors in frost-free areas. This plant is ideal for containers or even in the ground. Because this succulent can tolerate different levels of sun exposure, the Kalanchoe blossfeldiana makes a versatile and low-maintenance plant for any gardener. Bright light is best for this plant, yet you can place this succulent in a north-facing windowsill. Water this plant about once to twice a week during the warm spring and summer months; decrease your watering in the fall and winter (October through February). To improve the growth and flowering, fertilize once a month between March and August with a liquid fertilizer. Depending on the variety of this species, blooms will appear from winter to early spring. The blooming period usually lasts four to eight weeks. This succulent can tolerate temperatures as low as 45°F.
You can grow more of this beautiful succulent by propagating the stem cuttings, which should be taken while the plant is actively growing. Replant the cuttings in a well-drained cactus mix and keep in filtered sunlight to produce the best results. As a low-maintenance succulent that has few pest or disease problems, Kalanchoe blossfeldiana is an easy choice for plant lovers. With its long flowering period and easy care, Kalanchoe blossfeldiana represent wonderful landscape succulents or simply lovely on its own in a container.
